As a Mother Goose Time blog ambassador, I receive the Mother Goose Time Preschool curriculum in exchange for my honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own. Keep in mind that all toddlers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids.
Sometimes I share an overview of our entire day with Mother Goose Time and other times I stick with one specific activity or project. Today it’s looking like the Hedgehog invitation to create is where it’s at. The little guy seriously loved it.
We started with some craft supplies and an inspiration photo of a hedgehog and went from there. I originally tried to sit down and do this activity with the little guy, but I got side-tracked taking pictures and he decided he wanted to do mine too. Lol…
Obviously, painting on his own paper didn’t last long before he moved on to my paper and exploring the little black foam dots that were included in today’s daily discovery bag.
They were definitely a huge hit around here. I might have to grab a pack of self-adhesive foam shapes the next time I go to Michael’s.
Next up was cutting, which totally rocks for developing fine motor skills. Sometimes we do it completely right and other times not so much. That’s of course what being a toddler is all about.
Did I happen to mention that a certain little someone decided to take a break and paint everything but the paper? It happens. Yay for washable tempera paint, though. Lol…
Oh, and there was lots of rolling and folding paper too. I love watching him explore all the awesome supplies that we get each and every month in our curriculum kit. Yep, I’m totally that mom.
I kinda-sorta did things a bit backward and somehow the little guy ended up taking a bath before this activity. Of course that meant changing when he was done painting the table and himself. Oops! Lol…
