Coloring Helps Kids Develop Important Early Learning Skills

Kids of all ages love coloring pages. Coloring is a fantastic way to get creative, express your feelings, and it’s relaxing too. Plus, coloring activities can help preschool and kindergarten learners focus on some really important early learning skills too.

With these Winter coloring pages, your preschoolers can learn more about color identification, color mixing, and build important concentration skills as they work to complete their winter coloring pages.

Kindergartners can use these Winter coloring page printables to practice the fine motor skills they’ll need to develop proper penmanship as they learn about handwriting.

Coloring builds strong finger muscles, develops proper pencil grasp, and helps kindergarteners learn to form the strokes that will later form letters and numbers.

These winter coloring pages are a lot of fun too and make adorable home decor! Keep scrolling to get your own winter coloring printables.

Winter Birds Coloring Page Printables

The first two coloring pages in this winter printable pack showcase winter birds in cute winter hats. As you color these birds, talk about migration with your kids. Explain that some birds migrate during the cold winter months.

You can use this migration process art activity to continue exploring migration with your preschoolers this winter.

Then, consider making bird feeders with pinecones, peanut butter, and birdseed for the Winter birds in your backyard. Gather pinecones, cover in peanut butter, then roll in birdseed mix. Finally, use yarn to hang your pinecone bird feeders outdoors for Winter birds to enjoy.

Finally, consider reading No Two Alike* written and illustrated by Keith Baker to learn more about Winter and enjoy some beautiful illustrations of Winter birds.

Coloring Evergreen Trees

The beautiful evergreen trees are definitely one of my favorite Winter sights! Your preschoolers can color their very own evergreen trees with this Winter coloring page.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about these amazing trees and explore color mixing by blending different shades of green to create the perfect tree.

Add math learning fun to your preschool evergreen tree-themed lesson with my Christmas Tree Math printables all about measuring evergreens.

Winter Kitten Printable Coloring Page

Next, you can enjoy coloring this adorable kitten coloring page with your early learners. This cat is all dressed up for Winter. Your preschoolers will love putting their own creative spin on her Winter scarf and hat.

Then, get up and get moving! I love adding songs and dancing to your preschool lessons because it’s a great way to take advantage of the benefits of physical activity and burn off some energy while you’re cooped up inside this Winter. For a really fun time, try teaching your kids the Three Little Kittens song from Cocomelon.

I can’t wait to hear about your Winter learning adventures, so don’t forget to share all the fun you’re having with these coloring pages at home or in the classroom in the comment section.
