I also made some with counting feathers and even these cute owls! I love having a quick activity to do after a great book and these are perfect!
What Tools Do I Need to Make Clip Cards?
- White Cardstock*
- Printer (Color is best)
- Laminator* and Laminating Pouches
- Stickers or Permanent Marker
- Ring, Box, or Small Bag for Storage
Print these cards in color and then run them through your laminator. Place a sticker or permanent marker dot on the back of the clip card where the correct answer is.
This makes your clip cards an independent activity since kids can self-check!
After that, decide how you want to store them. I’ve organized them all sorts of ways, but I really like storing them in small clear bags.
I can easily see what our choices are. Don’t forget to add a few mini erasers and/or clothespins to each of the bags.
Why Should I Use Clip Cards?
These Free Printable Thanksgiving clip cards are a great visual representation of each number (0-10).
So many kiddos are visual learners. Instead of just saying 7, or counting 7 objects, with a counting clip card, kids begin to see 7 represented the same way and can quickly associate what 7 looks like.
With preschoolers, fine motor skills come into play by clipping clothespins to the clip card. But adding that sticker to the back makes these a great independent activity.
