Another weekend of working on the studio project and a few more things checked off our to-do list. I was telling my husband that he definitely owes me. He’s on second shift now, which means I was out here Friday and Saturday night by myself after the little guy went to bed.
I seriously think I spent something like 12 hours working on this in the last two days. That’s just insanity. I’m bound and determined to have this finished in the next week or two, though. I think I finally gave up and went to bed somewhere around 4 AM on Saturday morning and then a certain little someone got up at 7 AM. Go figure, right? Last night, I was out out here from about 8 PM to 12 AM.
So what have I managed to accomplish this weekend? Well, aside from stabbing my finger and stubbing my toe… Tools are dangerous, y’all! In all seriousness, though, both the finger and the toe are fine.
I’m still not quite sure if I’m going to buy white blinds for out here. I also thought about doing something along the lines of cafe curtains. I’d love to get an area rug as well.
One thing I do know for sure is that I want long curtains over the sliding glass door with a brushed nickel or wrought iron curtain rod. We’ll of course worry about the baseboard after we finish the floor. We also haven’t decided what we’re using for the ceiling. We’ve talked about making a sort of “box beam.”
I still have an asinine amount of work to do as far as finishing everything. It’s not too noticeable in the pictures, but there are nail holes and gaps that need some combination of puttied/caulked, sanded, and refinished. You know, because I’m a perfectionist and all. Lol…
What’s next? I need to get everything cleaned up and then we’re going to lightly sand and stain the floor. From what Tim said, the floor is going to be a long process. Lots of sanding and sealing.
Are you frustrated by how disorganized you are and how little you’re getting done? You’re definitely going to want to come hang out with us in the 52 Weeks group and chat about workspace & workflow and living an inspired life.
