Guess what, y’all! We finally wrapped up the studio project. I can’t believe it and I’m definitely still in awe. Imagine me out there with the little guy spinning around in circles and jumping up and down.
Talk about a long week of touching things up and cleaning in here. That’s always the worst part. I’m willing to bet you agree. I can’t even begin to tell you how much time I’ve spent puttying and filling things. It was totally worth it, though.
My little artist-in-residence of course helped too. He’s loving it already. And especially the fact that he echoes, so he runs back and forth from one end of the studio to the other and squeals. It’s hilarious.
The entire time I was cleaning, he was running back and forth chasing a couple of balls that I brought out here for him. No surprise there. I mean, he’s basically got a huge, empty space with just a few toys. That’s like every toddler’s dream, isn’t it? Lol…
We have so many more projects in the works. We’ve talked about everything from built-ins to an island and a sawhorse desk. Can’t wait! There are still so many things to do in here, but I finally have a studio. Isn’t that awesome? We broke ground in November of last year and it’s October. That’s crazy.
For that matter, even I’ve put an asinine number of hours into this project. And I never expected that. I truly didn’t realize how long this would take or how much work would be involved. I actually guessed we’d be finished about six months sooner than we were. I also never imagined I’d be out there helping as much as I was.
I helped hang drywall and paint. I helped with the plank wall. I was even outside with the guys last winter in the bitter cold and pouring rain prepping the forms for the concrete pour the following morning.
I’ve learned so much in the last year and if you’re interested in hearing some of my thoughts on this project as a whole, definitely check back next weekend for the final post in the studio project series.
What’s next? Getting ourselves moved in and working through the 52 Weeks to an Organized Workspace challenge. I’d love for you to join us.
Psst… Are you frustrated by how disorganized you are and how little you’re getting done? You’re definitely going to want to come hang out with us in the 52 Weeks group and chat about workspace & workflow and living an inspired life.
Thanks so much for visiting and have a great week!
