Learning sight words is an important pre-reading skill for little kids. After all, sight words are some of the most commonly used words in the English language.

Looking for lots of awesome ideas for practicing preschool sight words?

Sight Word Cookies

Roll out colorful play dough and use letter cookie cutters to stamp sight words into the play dough. Your little learners can make their very own pretend sight word cookies. You could even include rolling pins and baking sheets to extend this activity and add a bit of dramatic play.

Sight Word Writing Bag

Pour some red paint into a clear zip bag and tape it to a table or even a tray. Encourage your preschoolers to trace letters and sight words in the paint using their fingers. It’s a wonderful hands-on way to practice important pre-writing skills and a great sensory experience too.

Build fine motor skills and practice early reading using these color by sight word back to school preschool worksheets today!
