Teaching preschool means being resourceful and this Free Printable Pumpkin Template was the result of exactly that. I had an invitation to create activity planned and I couldn’t find any pumpkin templates that were just right for what I had in mind.
Side note: Being creative when you’re a teacher is all kinds of awesome. Staying up until 2-3 AM to be creative… Not so much, but that’s a story for another day. Lol…
Seriously, though. You don’t need lots of complicated projects to keep preschoolers busy. Quick & easy works just as well! We had a blast with this pumpkin template and I’m sure that you and your little kids will too!

We actually ended up doing quite a few different things with these fun pumpkin templates.
Pumpkin Crafts
There are lots of fun pumpkin crafts and activities that you can enjoy with your preschoolers and kindergartners this year.

Pumpkin Coloring Pages
Of course, we printed a few and used them as coloring pages. They’re great for toddlers and preschoolers because of the simple design that’s relatively easy to color.
Torn Paper Pumpkin Collage
Create torn paper collages with them. Basically, we ripped up orange construction paper and glued it onto the templates to create a collage. Talk about a great beginner fine motor activity!
Little kids will adore this quick & easy art project and the final result will make wonderful decor for your classroom or homeschool this holiday season.
Mess-Free Pumpkin Painting
We also put a pumpkin template and a little bit of orange paint in a clear zipper bag and let baby girl create her very own mess-free pumpkin art sensory activity.
Pumpkin Mixed Media Art
Use this template to lightly draw a pumpkin design on watercolor paper and then trace the lines with either glue or oil pastel then use watercolors to create gorgeous pumpkin mixed media art.
Your kiddos will definitely have a blast doing “grown-up art” and using mom’s art supplies. The little guy and I did something similar and he loved it!

Pumpkin Letter Scavenger Hunt
Print and cut out lots of pumpkins. You’ll want to make a pumpkin for every letter of the alphabet. Write a letter on each one and then hide them. Have your kiddos find each letter of the alphabet and put them in order.
Pumpkin Patch Counting
We put together a quick & easy pumpkin patch counting activity using a sensory bin, straw, and of course pumpkins too. We chose to use 10 mini pumpkins with our preschool class, but you could of course add more for older kiddos.
