I may or may not have mentioned last month that I wanted to change things up sometimes and swap out what’s in the little guy’s activity baskets. I of course also thought it might be fun to share my picks for this month while I’m at it.
Remember, the little guy is 20-months-old.
If you missed it a few weeks ago, you can see our “Tot School” space here. Here’s a quick peek at what it looks like in here during the day. The natural light is amazing in this space.
I’m seriously head over heels in love with this space. We finally have all of our books/games/puzzles in one place – basically, everything that’s educational. I know, I know. I’m a nerd. And remember, this is just one corner of my studio, which means we have every art supply imaginable in here too. You can see more pictures of the studio here.
Here’s what’s in each of his activity baskets at the moment. From left to right, top to bottom:
Sassy Developmental Sensory Ball Set* and Infantino Textured Multi Ball Set*, Lights Camera Interaction Stacking Construction Vehicles*, Bright Starts Lots of Links*, Discovery Kids 24 Piece Magnetic Tile Set*, Rubbabu Lowercase Alphabet Set*, and Learning Resources Primary Science Lab Set* and Learning Resources Helping Hands Fine Motor Tool Set*.
The little guy isn’t in any way limited to our monthly activity baskets, but I do make sure these particular things are easy for him to get to and easy for him to put away on his own. I definitely make a point of sitting down with him each and every day, though. Like I’ve mentioned before, we sit down together. We take turns. We talk. After all, that’s how he learns. Talking. Playing. Experiencing. Have you ever heard this quote?
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” – Benjamin Franklin
And there you have it, my friends. My entire philosophy on learning. Lol… There are so many things I want to do with the little guy throughout the next few years and if you’re interested in following along with what we’re up to each week, definitely sign up via email and/or follow The Keeper of the Memories on Facebook and Pinterest.
