We finally wrapped up Dinosaur Dig. A few days late, I know. It’s been crazy around here. Lots of good stuff happening. More about that later, though.

Today we learned about dinosaur footprints and one of our activities was of course making dino tracks. So much fun! The little guy was all about it.

A huge thanks to Experience Early Learning (formerly Mother Goose Time) for providing us with their Experience Preschool curriculum for free in exchange for sharing our honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. It’s been such a huge blessing to us! As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own.

Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids.

Are you interested in making your own dino tracks? You’ll need strips of paper, crayons and/or markers, a dinosaur figure, and paint. This was one of those activities that all kinds of quick + easy. You know, perfect for a preschool paleontologist!

The little guy started by drawing some plants on the paper strips. After he was finished, he rearranged the strips to create a path. And then he moved onto dipping the dinosaur figure into the paint and making dino tracks.

Somehow this activity turned into making dino head and tail prints too. Welcome to the inevitable process art that happens when you give a preschooler things like paint and a dinosaur figure.

Apparently nothing is off limits. As you can see, dino heads and tails work just as well. Just ask the little guy. After all, he totally loves to surprise me. Talk about creative thinking.
