Guess what, y’all? It seems as though we’ve been doing nothing but organizing lately, so I thought it was about time to make a mess. Say what? Yep, you heard me right. This week, I’m challenging you to use memorabilia & ephemera on your pages and to of course get messy in the process.
I put together an awesome pocket page to share all the little bits & pieces from when we started planning the studio project.
I started with one of my mixed media backgrounds and the We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard line, which I’ve been saving for years, specifically to scrapbook these pictures.
These are really quick – I start with white cardstock and some stencils. I use various colors of distress inks to get the background texture. After that, I splatter black ink. I also use whatever two mists I have that most closely match the distress inks and splatter those as well. When those first few layers are dry, sometimes I like to add some watercolor around the edges and some stamping.
After that, I added my pocket. I only used adhesive around the outside edge so that I could slip some memorabilia & ephemera in when I was finished.
And then it was time to figure out how to position my pictures and choose a few embellishments. I made sure to keep everything on my pocket so that you’d still be able to see it all when I was finished.
A few more embellishments, a title, and some twine. And I think we’re good to go. That wasn’t hard, was it?
I slipped the original sketch for my space along with the paint chips into my pocket.
I love it! I think it’ll be an awesome cover page for my studio project album. Only about 49 more layouts to go, give or take. Lol…
