Ladybug Life Cycle
Teaching your kindergartners about life cycles will help them begin to understand the natural world. It takes a ladybug just 4 to 8 weeks to complete its life cycle. During that time, ladybugs cycles through 4 stages:
- Eggs – Ladybugs lay eggs in clusters, which usually hatch in 2 to 10 days.
- Larva – This second stage in the ladybug life cycle can last a whole month. During this time, they eat a lot!
- Pupa – In the pupa stage, ladybugs are typically yellow or orange with black markings.
- Adult Ladybug – At this stage, ladybugs are fully grown. Adult ladybugs eat literally thousands of aphids in their short lifetime.
