J is for Jellyfish Zoo Craft

June 29, 2019

J is for Jellyfish and this awesome jellyfish zoo craft is sure to amaze your little kids. It’s a quick and easy kids project using things that you probably already have around the house. Your preschoolers will have a blast making these for your next zoo or ocean theme!

Needless to say, the little guy and I are having a blast. What an awesome theme for summer! And it looks like soon enough, we’ll be putting together a list of fun ocean crafts. We’ve already been working on preschool safari crafts and of course zoo crafts too!

What you’ll need

  • Paper Plate
  • Paint
  • Buttons
  • Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Here’s how to do it

preschooler attaching a piece of ribbon to paper plate that was cut in half
Cut the paper plate in half. Make sure to keep both halves.

pieces of ribbon attached to paper plate that was cut in half to make jellyfish tentacles
Glue pieces of ribbon to the bottom of the paper plate as shown in the picture to create tentacles.

We alternated the color and length of the ribbon.

Using glue, attach the other half of the paper plate over the ribbon.

Basically you’re creating a sandwich with the two paper plate halves.

Paint the paper plate and allow to dry.

We painted our jellyfish pink, but of course, you can use any color you’d like.

Add eyes using buttons. You could use wiggle eyes too.
