It’s for sure mid-September and this is definitely an interesting time of the year in Pennsylvania. In the mornings, we need sweaters and/or jackets. By lunchtime, we’re all in shorts and t-shirts. It’s great! And especially all the extra laundry. Lol… #joking
But in all seriousness, everything is so gorgeous and there is no shortage of amazing topics to explore. If you’re interested in our favorite 10+ fall preschool monthly themes, then definitely keep reading!
Fall Preschool Themes
Community Helpers – Police officers and fire fighters, are just a few of the community helpers that we learned about during this theme. This is an especially great theme for dramatic play. We created a fun role play area where we could pretend to be all kinds of different community helpers and even learned about a lot of different careers.
Dinosaur Dig – We loved learning about dinosaurs. The little guy and I set up a dinosaur dig, created a dinosaur skeleton, made dinosaur tracks, built a dinosaur habitat, and even pretended to be paleontologists. Get your gear on and get ready because we’re going to have some prehistoric fun!
Friends & Feelings – Friends & Feelings is a great preschool monthly theme to start your school year as little kids learn to be good friends to their classmates and to manage their feelings in positive ways. All of the social-emotional skills that are typically taught in a theme like this are so important for preschoolers.
Discover the Desert – The desert is a very curious habitat and one that typically enthralls little kids. There are so many fascinating animals that live in the desert and it’s also a great preschool monthly theme to learn about nocturnal animals.
Down on the Farm – Learning about the farm is a great way to get little kids all kinds of excited about animals. Of course it’s also a great preschool theme for learning about the food that we eat and where it comes from. And especially considering the possibility of visiting a local farmer’s market.
Me & My Family – It’s wonderful for little kids to learn that families are unique and to gain an understanding of how families work. We learned about cooperation, problem solving, and even kindness. And let’s not forget lots of fun activities. We created family tree process art and learned about pets too!
Orchard Harvest – Fall is the best time of the year for harvest themes. There are lots of different fall festivals to choose from and so many amazing science topics from animals to life cycles and everything in between.
Health & Fitness – Health & Fitness is so important for little kids. We want them to develop healthy habits at a young age and learning about nutrition and exercise is one way of encouraging them to live happy and healthy lives.
Going on Safari – Looking for an adventure? Try a safari preschool theme! Your little kids will love making their very own DIY safari binoculars and yay for lots of lion crafts! It’ll for sure be a roaring good time!
Of course let’s not forget about the more traditional fall preschool monthly themes!
Fall – Yep! Fall itself. We’ve been working on lots of fun printables lately. And there is no shortage of cool stuff that we can do with apples and pumpkins. Have you considered exploring why leaves change color? That’s just the beginning. The possibilities are endless for fall-themed preschool fun!
Halloween – Every little kid’s favorite holiday. Well, maybe second favorite. Lol… It’s a great time to learn about bats and spiders and do lots of ooey-gooey science activities. We’re so excited for Halloween this year. So many ideas and so little time!
Thanksgiving – There are so many topics that you could teach your little kids about for Thanksgiving. The first thanksgiving, being grateful, and even cooking and kitchen science. What a wonderful time of year for preschool monthly themes, don’t you think?
