Have your preschoolers or kindergartners find as many fall nature items as possible then sort the items by beginning sounds. You could also extend this activity by graphing how many items you found that start with each letter of the alphabet.
Letter Leaf Sort
Cut out colorful fall leaves and write capital and lowercase letters on them. Have your little learners sort them. Capital letter leaves go into one basket and lowercase letter leaves go into another.
Fall Sensory Writing Bag
Use a clear zip bag to make a fall sensory writing bag. Pour some red, orange and yellow paint into a bag, zip it up, and tape the bag to a flat surface. We like to use our sensory table for activities like this one.
