As a Mother Goose Time blog ambassador, I receive the Mother Goose Time Preschool curriculum in exchange for my honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own. Keep in mind that all toddlers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids.
The little guy and I were both really excited to get started with our new theme from Mother Goose Time. This month, it’s all about Bugs + Crawly Things.
We ordered this Insect Lore Butterfly Garden Gift Set to go along with our curriculum kit. We’ve all really enjoying checking on the caterpillars each day.
And of course they’re getting so big already. I definitely can’t wait to see them turn into butterflies.
We also spent some time working on the Butterfly Wings invitation to create.
I skipped ahead and grabbed this activity specifically because we got our Insect Lore kit in the mail and I wanted to spend some time talking about caterpillars & butterflies and metamorphosis.
It was actually kinda hilarious because when the little guy saw the UPS truck, he was all like “-PS! Bugs!” And then he ran to the door as quickly as he could. Lol…
We went to Barnes & Noble the other day and found insects specimens and of course I got another “Bugs!” Yep, those ended up coming home with us too. Can you tell what his thing is?
The piece of paper that we used for this project was folded in half, which was really cool. When the little guy was finished, I unfolded and refolded it so his painting transferred.
Basically, he ended up creating two butterfly wings without even realizing it. How cool is that? I mean, seriously. This is totally what I love about Mother Goose Time.
There are definitely some geniuses working behind the scenes. The stuff they come up with never ceases to amaze me.
