This was our first week back to homeschool and we definitely had a blast. I thought it’d be fun to give you a sneak peak at what we learned. The topic was Wonder About Body Parts and since Monday was a holiday, we did four of the five lessons.

On Friday, we finally got a chance to do our back to homeschool photoshoot. It was all kinds of awesome. We got a dozen balloons from Giant Eagle and went to the park to take pictures.
When we came home, we started working on Day 4 of our My Amazing Body theme from Mother Goose Time, which was all about legs. The first thing on our list was making a pocket. I loved having the opportunity to work on our fine motor skills.
We also did an activity with numbers and our counting cards. We used last year’s since they were already laminated, but there were new ones in our daily discovery bag as well.
After that, we colored. We got this fun letter coloring sheet in our curriculum kit. I’m hoping to have an entire alphabet book by the end of the school year.
We spent some time working with our phonics cube. There was a capital and a lowercase B as well as words and pictures that begin with the letter B. The little guy and I had lots of fun rolling it around and talking about letters, words, and sounds.
And last, but not least, we did this awesome Investigation Station with blocks and Play-Doh. Of course we talked about our skin and bones too.
The little guy and I are both so excited about this year. And next week, we’ll be learning about our senses. Don’t forget to check back if you’re interested in seeing what we’re up to with our My Amazing Body theme. And if you missed our preschool space post, you can check it out here.
