Can you even begin to believe that summer is almost over. I definitely can’t. It seems like just yesterday that we wrapped up last school year and here we are starting all over again. And of course the little guy is a year older this time around, which means switching gears altogether.

The little guy rocked his first year of homeschool preschool and it’s crazy to think about how much he learned in just a few short months.
He totally knows letters and numbers and colors and shapes. I mean, even to the point of identifying a few three-dimensional shapes. Yay for the manipulatives that came in our August curriculum kit.
He’s lovin’ them and so am I. And letter sounds. Yep! He knows those too. Lately we’ve been working on identifying beginning and ending sounds. You know, to kinda mix things up.
Because we started using Mother Goose Time when the little guy was so young, there were some things that we skipped. We barely touched the sight word pointers and the I Can Read books and I definitely want to change that for this school year.
Of course there are the My Little Journal activities each month that I’m really looking forward to spending more time working on too. Pre-reading and early writing skills are so important for little kids.
I love that this curriculum grows with the little guy. Last year, we started with Little Goose and used it until the beginning of December. After that, we switched to Experience God. And hopefully, we’ll get the opportunity to check out More Math + Literacy next year.
I definitely can’t wait to get back to homeschool with Mother Goose Time. Check out what’s new for the 2017-2018 school year here.
Don’t forget to check back next week to see what we’re up to with our new Superheroes theme. And if you missed our preschool space post a while back, you can check it out here.
