Are your little kids STEAM Kids?
If you’ve been following along with our Tot School Days, then you know our theme for last month was Science Lab. If not, what are you waiting for? You can check out what we’ve been up to here.
Of course we love STEAM around here. I’m willing to bet you already knew that, though. And I have something that’s all kinds of awesome to share with you today. As a busy mama, I don’t always have time to look for activities on Pinterest. I mean, c’mon. I work part-time, freelance part-time, homeschool and of course hang out with the little guy.
Like I said, no time for Pinterest.
Instead, I have the STEAM Kids* eBook. 50+ hands-on projects for little kids.
We did the Building Challenge tonight and of course it was all kinds of fun. The little guy is seriously all for anything and everything that involves engineering. And STEAM Kids* of course makes it so easy to keep ’em coming. With this many projects, it’s definitely going to take a while to work through them all.
Each activity lists the difficulty, the estimated project time, the STEAM behind it, materials, instructions, and project extensions.
And this particular building challenge is so versatile. I can think of at least a dozen different ideas just off the top of my head.
Are your little kids STEAM Kids?
If you’re too busy to spend hours on Pinterest, this is a must-have for you. You’ll be so happy to have it the next time your little kids are following you around the house complaining they’re bored. Admit it. They all do it.
I think it’s safe to say that the little guy is most definitely a STEAM Kid. Upside-down safety glasses and all. Totally his idea! Lol…

Toys come and go. They get bought and then forgotten. Give your little kids something that will last forever. Give them a love of all things STEAM and inspire your kids to:
Question like a scientist
Design like a technologist
Build like an engineer
Create like an artist
Deduce like a mathematician
Play like a kid
Some of the best memories we have from the last year or so are the little guy and I hanging out together in the studio doing whatever project or activity happened to be on our agenda for that particular day. If you’ve been around for a while, then you know how it is. We’re always up to something.
More often than not, that something is STEAM-related in one way or another. Whether we’re experimenting or building or making, we’re encouraging creativity and problem solving and those skills are so important for solving real world problems.
And the best part? With 52 weeks of activities, there’s an entire year of awesome Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities that will totally wow your little kids.
Inspire them to be STEAM Kids.
