A An Worksheets for Kindergarten with text: Free Printable A & An Worksheets for KindergartenThe little guy and I were looking for something different to work on, so I put together these Free Printable A & An Worksheets for Kindergarten. I thought they’d make a great introduction to articles and basic grammar.

Effective communication is so important. Whether via speech or writing, how we get our point across says a lot about who we are. And of course since the little guy was a newborn, I’ve been reading to him every day.

Now that he’s a kindergartner, I’m starting to really see just how developed his language & literacy skills are. Not only is he starting to read, but a lot of the grammar exercises that we’ve done have been almost intuitive for him. We’ve never talked about articles or about when to use a versus an.

And yet when I explained to him what to do, he seemed to almost instinctively know which one to use.

It’s always exciting when your little kids learn a new skill or they seem to have a knack for something. You know, especially when that just happens to be something that you love too.

For the little guy and I, that’s reading. We’re both all about books! And we spend a lot of time reading together. I’m always amazed at how quickly he picks up anything and everything language-related. And yet, when I really stop to think about it, I’m not. I know that sounds like an oxymoron and it sort of is.

But the one thing that we’ve always done without fail is read together and it shows.

Don’t they look awesome? Grab a dot marker and let your little kids learn grammar in a fun, hands-on way! We love these ones* that we picked up online. You could also have them color the correct article with crayons or even colored pencils.

And if you’re looking to add some handwriting practice, you could of course ask them to write the correct answer too.
