Welcome to week 40 of the 52 Weeks to an Organized Workspace Challenge. This week, we’re dealing with our digital photos once and for all. How many times have you tried to get them organized only to get frustrated and give up. I know, I know. Aside from maybe patterned paper, this is the thing that we probably have the most of. After all, these days it’s entirely too easy to take 200+ photos of our little kids every week.
Here’s the deal. Figure out what you have and set a goal. If you have 10k digital photos on your hard-drive, make it a point to organize 100-200 each day. Yep, it’s definitely a process. The results are so worth it, though. Imagine being able to find what you’re looking for quickly and get right to being creative.
There are as many ways to organize digital photos as there are people who need to get them organized. Figure out what works for you. I organize my digital photos by theme. All of the pictures that I’ve taken for Mother Goose Time are in one folder and all of the photos that I took on our Timberdoodle + Sonlight Box Day are in another. Rinse, lather, and repeat. Easy-peasy.
Do some brainstorming and take some time to think about how you’re going to organize your digital photos and then get to it. Don’t forget to share before and after pictures.
