We’ve had lots of fun with our Experience God curriculum lately. This month focuses on Revelation 1:8 and features the story “Paul’s Journey.”

Every month when we get our Mother Goose Time stuff, we also get Experience God, which is the Christian supplement that goes along with our preschool curriculum kit.
This week, we did this awesome Sand Writing activity and of course the little guy was all about it. The skills listed were Letter Recognition (12.1) and Fine Motor (5.1). And I love that it doubled as handwriting practice too.
The little guy loves stuff like this. It’s just kinda his thing. And Mother Goose Time does an awesome job of making it all work together.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come.”
Here’s how we used something as simple as sand to learn about Paul’s Journey.
What you’ll need
- Cake Pan
Ask: What do you like to do on the beach?
Here’s how to do it
- Fill a cake pan or other small container with sand.
- Explain that no matter where we are, God is with us. Paul’s boat was shipwrecked and he washed up on the beach.
- Write the word “God” with a stick in the sand. Invite children to trace over the word with another stick or with a finger.
- What other words mean God? Practice writing the words “Alpha” and “Omega” in the sand.
Explain: Paul was not worried when he was stranded on the beach. He knew God was with him.

As a Mother Goose Time blog ambassador, I receive the Mother Goose Time Preschool curriculum in exchange for my honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids. #mgtblogger
