We got our Superheroes curriculum kit a few days ago and the little guy has been loving the awesome magnetic wands and alphabet manipulatives. And since we got them, he’s spent lots of time exploring. We’ve put them in alphabetical order, practiced identifying letters, and even created words. They’re definitely all kinds of versatile.

With every little yellow school bus box comes two sets of manipulatives. And every “box day,” the little guy and I are quick to find them and open them. He loves counting and sorting or building with them and I love that they’re so open-ended. The possibilities are endless.
The magnetic wands and alphabet manipulatives are most likely going to be a favorite for years to come. And you know what? That’s one of the reasons I love Mother Goose Time so much.
Each month, we get a box full of themed curriculum and most of it can be used over and over again.
Some of the manipulatives that we receive go with our theme. For example, we got cow counters in October (Down on the Farm), duck counters in March (At the Pond), and bug counters in May (Bugs + Crawly Things).
We’ve also accumulated all kinds of building manipulatives too. And then there was the family stamp set in September (Me + My Family) and the foam alphabet puzzle in June (Alphabet Island). We also ended up with a set of geometric solids.
Right now, we have a few sets of manipulatives on trays in the studio for the little guy to grab whenever he wants.
I can’t even wrap my head around how often he plays with them. It seems that every day, he’s using the counting manipulatives for pretending or the building manipulatives for engineering.
After a few months, we toss them all into containers. I’ve all but given up on sorting them. Lol…
Think about it. Every time you purchase a curriculum kit, you’re building a collection of manipulatives that your little kids will want to play with over and over again.
And as a homeschool mama, what more could you ask for?

As a Mother Goose Time blog ambassador, I receive the Mother Goose Time Preschool curriculum in exchange for my honest and authentic stories resulting from our personal experiences. As always, my opinions on awesome stuff for little kids are 100% my own. Keep in mind that all preschoolers do things in their own time and on their own terms. What one is ready for, another might not be. Please use your best mama judgement when planning activities for your little kids. #mgtblogger
