We interrupt our regularly-scheduled Studio Sunday post to bring you something a little bit different. For the last few weeks, I’ve been sharing updates on our progress as we get ourselves moved into our brand-spankin’-new studio. And let me tell you something, it’s definitely a process! For the moment, we’re at a standstill while we wait on a few things. One of which is for my husband to help me with the Industrial Pipe Workbench. And of course there are a few other things in the works too. There usually always is around here. Lol…
This week, I thought it would be fun to talk about how I organize all the small things in my creative space. So let’s take a tour inside all of the many baskets and bins I’ve collected over the years and see what’s where at the moment. This is by no means everything, but it at least gives you an idea. If you’re looking for some perspective, you can check out last week’s post to see the overall layout of this space.
Here’s where we’re keeping our Cricut cartridges and embossing folders. I’m not particularly fond of the numbers on this little organizer, so I’m seriously considering painting the entire thing white and distressing it. Someday, I’m sure.
The embellishments in the pink basket are organized by brand. That’s not something I do very often, but I had so many packages of Glitz embellishments that it just seemed like the best option. It just goes to show that you don’t necessarily have to organize everything in the exact same way.
I also put my most-used adhesives in a basket. As much as I sometimes hate these baskets, there’s something to be said for “easy to get out and easy to put away,” which is definitely the case when you use all open storage.
The remainder of them are in iris cases. I separated the roller stamps, acrylic stamps, and rubber stamps into their own containers. The top few containers are ephemera and you can see how I organized it here.
Washi tape is organized by color in glass jars and all of my wood veneers are in these plastic organizers.
Like I said, that’s by no means everything, but it should give you a decent idea of what the backbone of my organization looks like. If you have any questions or if there’s anything else you’d like to see, feel free to leave a comment.
Psst… If you haven’t already, you’re definitely going to want to come hang out with us in our 52 Weeks Facebook group where we chat about workspace & workflow and living an inspired life.
